After departure from our hotel, our first stop – to take photos – will be at Uc Guzeller (famous fairy chimneys). We then continue to the Devrent Valley were you will see – as we walk through this amazing valley - other samples of fairy chimneys. Among these are those with caps, cones, mushroom like forms pillars and pointed rocks. The next stop is the “Monks’ valley” where again we will see another type of fairy chimneys of which one with 3 “heads” : the Saint Simeon and a hermit’s shelter carved in these cones
We then drive to Avanos, a center known for its terra cotta potteries, a craft dating back from the Hittite period : the red clay comes from the residue of the Kizilirmak river. This river – the longest of Turkey - divides the town in two. Here we will have our lunch.
In the afternoon, we proceed to the Goreme Open Air Museum, a valley of frescoed churches, chapels and monasteries carved in the fairy chimneys between the 10th and 13th centuries.
Before we return to our hotel, we will have a rest to take some pictures of the Uchisar Castle (the highest point of Cappadocia) and from Esentepe, a place known for its breathtaking panorama.

The Participants must be able to walk long distances over uneven and cobblestone surface and paths (light climbing) under the sun. Therefore bringing Comfortable footwear and clothes, hat, sun cream and sun glasses are recommended.
Winters in some regions of Turkey can be quite cold. Hence appropriate clothes are recommended.
